I can point to players where corrections were made for certain who have no
rating discontinuities. I believe (but it's long enough ago now that I am
no longer certain) that the corrections were made soon enough that a re-rate
was possible. That was not possible later.
The fact that additional corrections were made recently to several players
doesn't mean that corrections weren't also done years ago. The two
situations aren't mutually exclusive.
There is more (or at least used to be more) than one way to get an OLM
title. That helped to confuse my personal situation.
Remember, there was no MSA 6 years ago. When the MSA went into test mode,
some things immediately become apparent. A big positive to the MSA is that
it improves the security of the rating system. This is one of the reasons
that I have advocated an MSA for many years.
There are a number of reasons why I felt it important to deal with several
aspects of this situation as privately as possible, and have continued to do
so over time. Had you agreed to sit down and have a discussion, we could
have discussed those, at least to some degree.
