| I'm not talking about chasing down an erroneous reference in Chess
Life. I am talking about remaining silent when someone congratulates
him on being a Life Master. I agree that "remaining silent" is
sometimes the right thing to do, but it has rarely been Kevin's style.
I am also a little bit fuzzy on his time line. He claims that he
surrendered the LM title and floor as soon as he became aware that it
had resulted from the bogus tournaments. He also claims that he
himself reported the bogus tournaments to the USCF in 1999.
And yet, he was still claiming to be a Life Master in May of 2001. I
am not punishing him for doing the right thing. I am skeptical that he
did the right thing.
