Kevin told me that he contacted the USCF back in 1999 when he became
aware of the problem. If this is true, I would expect the USCF to have
some record and to have some explanation for why corrections to the
tournament record and to the ratings were not made. Kevin said he
dealt with Ernie Schlich at the time, but Ernie told me he did not
recall the situation. Ernie also told me his practice in such a
situation would be correcting the records. Kevin thinks that some
records were corrected, but it seems quite clear that nothing was done
to his or his son's.
