As is that.

One of the reasons several of the teams came to our tournament, Vince, is
that we were the best team. The other good teams couldn't just ignore the
tournament if they wanted to get better.

The best team(s) will always tend to go to the official championship. The
teams that have a shot, the individuals who can do well, will always choose
the official tournament.

Want to make it more likely? Post a history of the champions online.
Official records lend credence to official events.
