But that participation isn't school-related, Vince. Those are, for the most
part, the players and parents who realize that for the kids to get
significantly better they have to play in adult events.

I doubt it! The very people you are describing are ALREADY ICA members,
Vince, since otherwise they couldn't be in the Illinois Open and the
Illinois Class. The argument you give seems completely specious.

Agreed. There are only a few events that encourage or force cooperation.
In all those that do, the cooperation has always been there without
question.

If they didn't, they simply wouldn't be allowed to run the state
championship, and ICA could run it or give it to another organizer instead.

I agree. The STATE CHAMPIONSHIP also creates a different pricing dynamic,
and allows us to do this. We should before the opportunity goes away.
