SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

< I must have missed what happened in the dinner meeting at the last Olympiad,
which was supposed to help solidify plans for doing something about Kirsan. Can
anyone fill me in? > -- Jerry Spinrad

Readers may recall that the board authorized $2,000 for our FIDE "team" to
persuade friendly nations that Kirsan had to go. I publicly opposed this waste
of money on another useless junket.

As it turned out, Kirsan thumbed his nose at the USA again by not allowing the
motion to replace him to be placed on the agenda of the FIDE meeting.

What happened at the dinner or the $2,000?

The silence of the lambs tells us all that we need to know.
