It's well-known that rec.games.chess.politics has a pathological 'culture'.

1) George Mirijanian ('Miriling') created this thread.
2) Juergen replied closely to what George Mirijanian wrote.
3) Kevin Croxen replied closely to what Juergen wrote.
4) Nick replied closely to what Kevin Croxen wrote.

Then there was a sudden digression when Tim Hanke wrote another of his
political rants, which succeeded in provoking responses from Greg Kennedy
("NoMoreChess"), Larry Parr ("Parrthenon"), and other writers.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

Taylor Kingston has the right to be 'intrigued' by any historical question,
and I respect Mr Kingston's continuing explorations into chess history.

I shall say only that racism is far from absent today in the world (including
the United States), and that it could be more useful to do something to oppose
racism today rather than becoming too preoccupied about whether Emanuel Lasker
was more or less racist than most other Europeans of his generation.
