for the past 3 months i have been playing in tournaments every weekend
and now i feel like i have burnout.
i don't like chess in fact i hate it now.

how can i rekindle my interest in it? I am thinking about taking a
break
is that a good idea or will i lose all things i have learned ?

Top grandmasters typically train five or more hours a day, so you will
probably lose some edge if you stop for some time. But you can get it back
if and when you start playing again.

On the other hand, so what? If an average player does not play for fun, he
should not play, period. Besides, maybe yhou need to get a life.

So put it away and if the game is for you, you will be drawn back to the
game. Otherwise yhou will find some more enjoyable pastime such as basket
weaving...
