Author Anand is heading back to India to help with relief efforts.

It has been reported that Viswanathan Anand (India's top chess player) is
heading back to India to help with relief efforts. In one of the largest
natural disasters to have ever hit India thousands of relief workers are
heading for the stricken Asian country to help in relief efforts, in
addition to millions of dollars that have be raised.

Anand is from Madras, which is on the East Coast of India in an area
hard hit by the Tsunami. We can only hope that his family survives.

The best thing Anand can do, once he ascertains the status of his family, is
to write a fat check and stay out of the way. Food and water are already in
great shortage...unless Vishy plans to be hauling sandbags for 8 hours a
day, which I doubt, he's just another mouth to feed.
