< Larry, you want the worst of both worlds, the openness of a government body
and the competitiveness of the private world. > -- Mike Nolan

Fine, Mike Nolan has withdrawn his silly analogy comparing contracts
submitted to governments with those to private companies.

Mike now argues that our vendors might set different terms if their
contracts saw the light of day. I'm no longer sure what vendors we have beyond
ChessCafe, but no matter.

The distinction here is between everyday business and those contracts
and agreements determining the very future of the USCF. The documents related
to the move to Crossville are not about buying trophy cases for the Hall of
Fame. They are about whether the USCF is likely to have a future.

As for being a house parliamentarian, put the accent mark on "house."

Still, Mike gets credit for hanging around this precinct now that the
Board majority has grown silent or evaded answering pertinent questions like
Randy Bauer who says the architect's contract is being "renegotiated" -- which
probably wouldn't even occur unless a stink had been raised in this forum.
