POLITIKEN CUP
July 16 - July 24 2005

Scandinavias biggest and strongest open tournament continues its success
with bigger prizes and more side events.
The prizes have been raised by 17.000 DKK. In case of identical final scores
all the prizes are decided by tie-break (Medium Buchholz). E.g. ignoring the
score of the lowest and highest scoring opponent. No shared prizes! The
organizers hope once again to break the participant record.
The venue:
Quality Hotel Høje Taastrup, Carl Gustavsgade 1, 2630 Taastrup.
Room prices: Single room 640 DKK, Double room 790 DKK + Extra bed 890 DKK.
If you buy a nordic hotelpas at arrival for 100 DKK every 5th night is free.

July 23 at 12.00, round 10 Sunday July 24 at 9.00
d.. 40 moves in 2 hours / 1 hour finish. Totally 6 hours
e.. Possibilities for making GM and IM-norms and getting on the elo list

g.. Blitz tournament Friday July 22 at 19.30
h.. Junior tournament Tuesday July 19 at 9.00-14.00

Thank you very much for posting this here. We need more posts like
this one. In America, we know very little about chess tournaments in
Europe and if we knew more we would fly over to Europe to play just as
Europeans often come here to compete in the World Open for example.

It would be helpful if you would translate the money terms into real
money. How much is 17,000 DKK in real money?
