Some questions about the ED search:

What have we done to advertise our ED search other than putting an
announcement in CL and posting a copy of this ad on our website (which can
be seen here: http://www.uschess.org/ED-Editor-Sc...rSearch2004.pdf

In particular, are we working with executive search firms in Tennessee (or
Atlanta), and have we advertised the position in the papers in Crossville,
Knoxville, Nashville, Oak Ridge, Atlanta, etc.?

For that matter, have we aggressively circulated the announcement to the
affiliated clubs and state associations?

Why have we not UPDATED this announcement to include the information that
the USCF is going to be in Crossville??? Why have we left the old
announcement, which predated the relocation decision (which "will be made
November 1, 2004") and gives no clue about what city or state the USCF
offices will be in, on line for two months now?

By requiring that ED candidates have "Demonstrated knowledge in the field of
chess and a passionate commitment to the organization", are we not
restricting the field so far that only a handful of people in eastern
Tennessee will be eligible? Wouldn't we want to consider an experienced
association manager from Knoxville, even if he or she doesn't know what
color square goes in the near right-hand corner?
