I think it was on MSNBC a few days ago I saw a piece on a new company called
Rural Outsourcing, Inc., located on the campus of Arkansas State university in
Jonesboro. This company was founded by a woman who was once in charge of
outsourcing to India much of her former employer's business activities.
Concerned about the loss of American jobs to overseas services, she left the
company and invested $2 million of her own money into this new venture using
technically well trained rural Americans. Her 15 employees are students or
graduates of Arkansas State. She is also a native of Arkansas and has strongly
positive feelings about the work ethic of small town and rural Americans. She
has already landed five major corporate clients.
It may be too late in the Crossville game, but I wonder nevertheless if Rural
Outsourcing, Inc. has something to offer Chess HQ.

One could further ask if the USCF itself could take on from a base in
Crossville some non-chess outsourcing business and earn some money for chess?

We already are inept enough at running a chess business, what makes you think
we could run a non-chess related business? Lets stick to our charter.
