I'd be the ideal ED for USCF
|
|

| Want to see chess on television? So do I. I believe I can make that
happen.
Want to see bigger purses? I can't make that happen tomorrow, but I could
set the USCF on its way towards doing that.
Want to see a website that generates more money for USCF so that services
could increase without adding fees, I believe I could make that happen.
Want to see TOTAL TRANSPARENCY in USCF's operations? Look no further,
because I believe the USCF is owned by its members, and it should serve the
membership rather than the other way around.
I have studied chess for a number of years, and played OTB in several
states, and at a high enough level that I routinely was paired against
players rated anywhere from 1400-2600. My peak rating of 2000 gives me a
perspective where I can see the rank-and-file and the elite simultaneously.
Unlike most EDs, I have a ton of office-related skills that would greatedly
reduce the need for support staff and those related expenses, as well as
having the problem of a boss not even knowing how a support job should be
done and thus not being able to tell if it's being done right. In many
cases, I can do a job in half the time it would take to show someone else to
do it and then correct their work.

| One other thing: two words I'd never say as ED would be "trust me." I hope
that whomever they choose as ED would never utter those words either.
The membership has no inherent reason to trust (or not to trust) anyone.
The only need anyone would ever have for your trust is to BETRAY you. In
Russia they say "trust, but verify." That is a good rule. A USCF member
should have the same right to examine the federation from top to bottom that
the board or the ED has.

"Greatedly reduce?" I guess spelling and grammar aren't among the "ton of
office-related skills" you supposedly posess.

Well I don't get paid to post to USENET so I don't proof my posts. Not the
same as in a work environment.
Do you consider your USENET posts to be relevant to your military service?

Yet you were using USENET to puff up your secretarial credentials as if they
made you appropriate for ED. In essence, you were fishing for a job, but didn't
feel compelled to use the same standards you would in a work environment. You
are really twisted.
Hey, Ray, has FIDE sent you that certificate for "Grandmaster in the Opening"
yet?

Like your ad-hominems are somehow relevant? Fact is, I have a lot of skills
and chess knowledge that would be very useful to USCF or many other
organizations.
You don't have to like me to respect my skills.

I wish to God Bobby Fischer had cited, as one of his reasons for not playing
in 1975, the assholes in the United States who put down those who train for
the highest levels of the game.
No one starts out at 2600, and anyone who is insulted on the way there sure
isn't going to have a high opinion of his peers or his federation. Don't
cry out for American talent if all that is intended is to abuse anyone who
makes an attempt to become that talent.

Maybe he would have, if they were Jews. Or communists. Or creepy-crawlies.
Or whatever else lurks in Bobby Fischer's shorts at night.

Your secretarial skills do seem impressive; I am sure USCF needs secretarial
help in Crossville, so why not apply? Now, as to ED....
