| >The strategy is rather obvious: talk about Sam Sloan's credibility rather than
real issues such as the contract between the USCF and Crossville, which cannot

lawsuit." And so it goes.> -- Larry Parr
<<Exactly Larry. That`s the point here. I must say it`s funny for me to observe
a USCF official using such a bad language. However I know several cases in
which such officials (from chess federations) did transfer public money into
their private pockets. Thus IMHO Sam Sloan is doing a good job demanding an
explanation from USCF officials how they want to spend public money.>> -- Jerzy
Dear Jerzy,
Right, let's just find out what is happening. What does the contract between
the USCF and Crossville actually say?
Randy Bauer is trying mightily to personalize a quest for information. I am on
record as stating time after time that the front-line figures for the
Crossville move are competent people.
Tim Hanke would be EMINENTLY qualified to be Chess Life editor and Beatriz
Marinello until now has been a brilliant USCF president and might make a good
executive director. But there must be a decent interval of at least 18 months
between leaving the Board and assuming a couple of the cherry jobs at the USCF.
Let such a period pass, and I am more than likely to say more power to 'em.
Sam is performing a useful function by making a lot of trouble because we need
far more information about the move to Crossville and the intentions of people
than we currently have. Stonewalling and answering legitimate questions with
personal attacks certainly doesn't inspire confidence in our leadership.
