Hi Randy,
Thanks for your efforts on behalf of the members. Please note that Sam's FIDE
reporting was full of lies and distortions as well. I didn't realize that Parr
was just as bad until I represented the USCF in FIDE. Now, I know he is.
They would lie about me. I would call them liars. People said I shouldn't
call them names. Sound familiar? The liars are liars. I don't have a problem
calling them what they are.
I think it is pretty much a given that these types will continue to lie,
distort and mislead, even when you patiently explain the facts over and over
again. You finally become exasperated with their dishonesty and call them what
they are: liars, and then people say you're rude. I know the feeling. Sheesh.
My only advice to you is kill-file them. My rule was that I'd respond to
something they'd written only, if some reasonable person asked about it.
Otherwise, ignore it. It worked quite well. It turns out they are usually
quoting each other.
What is amazing is not that they're dishonest, but that they are also so
consistently wrong about things. Remember when universal drug testing was
right around the corner? Remember when FIDE Commerce was the latest and
greatest evil plan? Or the medical commission that was some grand money making
project that was to envelop all the world?
If they are against the Crossville move, you can take that as reassurance that
you're doing the right thing. Take heart!
Parr is so wacko that he still uses a statment from Dr. Press, as though it
sums up FIDE's current position, despite the fact that Press was dismissed long
ago, in large part precisely because he made such statements. Randy, they've
been lying about FIDE too. (When the truth was dismal enough, there was no
need to lie, but they did it anyway. I don't think they can help themselves.)
These guys are dishonest, and responding to them honestly, as you do, will
never change them. I believe ignoring them is the wisest course of action.
Just my two cents.
There are plenty of reasonable people who will question what you're doing on
the EB. Dealing with them is time consuming enough, but a neccessary part of
the job. Don't get distracted by the liars or the airheads that believe
anything the liars write.
Thanks again for your service. There are people who appreciate your efforts.
Your board has done the hard things the organization needed to have done. You
should be applauded for your efforts, but you know how it is...

Remove the Sheesh to respond. Don't worry. Talk happy.
