For thoose of you who haven't heard, Tim Hanke routinely gets manhandled at the
chess board by our Madame President, so badly in fact that we all feel his
pain.
Tim's only chance to get a decent game against Beatriz is to slip something by
her - that will be more difficult now as Beatriz's game is on the way back as
she trains for her participation in the upcoming US Championship.
On another matter, I'm convinced Tim has found a hidden treasure in Crossville
and seeks to drink it. In an attempt to secure my vote for Crossville Tim told
me about the Treasure. It is on a boat under a very large cloth covering under
which is the treasure. Written on the cover is the six letter word identifying
the treasure.

This seems to be an interesting and very subtle joke but I cannot
figure it out.
When you say "Tim Hanke routinely gets manhandled at the
chess board by our Madame President" I think you mean the real
chessboard, the kind played on with 32 pieces, not the Executive
Board. Beatriz is, of course, a much stronger chess player than Tim
Hanke.
Is Beatriz qualified for the US Championship? I do not believe that
she is.
One of my secret sources just wrote to me that he thinks that you Don
Schultz will be the one to supply the fourth vote to replace Goichberg
with Beatriz. I am now convinced that Bauer will not vote for this.
The USCF should really move to Lynchburg, Virginia, not Tennessee. Did
you know that Thomas Jefferson Beale buried a secret treasure
consisting of several tons of gold and silver in Bedford County just
outside of Lynchburg. Every year, people come to Lynchburg with metal
detectors, geiger counters and other devices trying to locate the
treasure. Don't believe me? Try searching the Internet under Beale
Code and Beale Treasure.

Yes she is. She is the number 10th ranked woman - I believe. Anyway, for sure
she qualifies by the announced criteria and has told me she intends to play.

Wrong! Beatriz and Bill are two friends of mine. I will vote for either of them
over most others. Apparently some insiders are spreading false rumors about my
intentions/actions on sensitive issues in hopes of driving wedges between
Beatriz and me and Bill and me and have done this, in the case of Beatriz with
temporary success recently.
Here are my intentions:
If Bill seeks the ED job on a permanent basis, barring the entry of a super
duper unknown then I will vote for him for ED.
If Bill doesn't seek the job and Beatriz does, barring the entry of a super
duper unknown I will vote for Beatriz.

Amazing. Brady is down to you in confidants.

Guess what? Brady is not my source.
Beyond that, I say nothing.

Well if you say so then he is not. Not.

Too bad you wouldn't opt for a qualified applicant over a friend (not to imply, of course, that either is not qualified). THAT is
what happened to the USCF, Don, and you've been there the whole time.

In this case, at least, it appears that the friendship results FROM, rather
than IN, the feelings of the speaker as how qualified the applicant(s) is /
are.

I hear he expects a substantial thank you cash bonus.
