No doubt this is a new trend to come: on Saturday
17th September 2005, a team of Guangdong professional
Xiangqi players will take up challenges from a 5-men
team composed of non-professional, who are allowed to
take advantage of assistance with dedicated computers,
known as man-machine combined. The match venue will be
at a four stars hotel in Guangzhou. World Champion Lu
Qin is leading the professional team's attack. This
unusual match is organized by Huagong Xiangqi website,
participants to enjoy free meals and free accommodation
during the two days competition. A game won will be
awarded 1,500 yuan, a draw 1,000 yuan, even a lost game
earns 500 yuan. A challenger winning a game against GM
Lu Qin or GM Xu Yinchuan earns an extra 500 yuan.
