| Juan Mingthao is friendly and young, who shared a table
with the UK team during the prize giving and dinner

the Xiangqi front.

| Thanks to youhao for posting the game.
Just to point out that the name of this player from Taipei is JUAN Ming
Chao. The organiser made a typo in their tournament handbook, the error
populated all the official pairing and results tables. I had a chance
to chat with Juan and verified the spelling with him. The organiser
corrected the typo in the final ranking tables.
Likewise, the second player from China Macau is GOK U Long, His name
was wrongly written as KUOK Ulong. I have spotted such misspelt names
in a few Chinese players. I have made corrections to the contestants
list and all the round results at the AXF site after my return from
Paris.
Some of the native players from Europe are new comers to the WXC. I did
not have the time to verify the correctness of their names as printed
on the handbook during the Championships. I would appreciate it very
much if XQ fans could email me should they spot any errors in the
contestants list. I am maintaining a database of all contestants of the
WXC series.
Lastly, I have posted the complete game collection of the Women
Division, with the English Names of the players added, at the AXF web
site for downloading. I am now finding time to do the same to the game
records of the Men's Division.

Ok, I'm a greenhorn here. I just don't know why Peter resigned, if in
fact he did, because the .doc records do not format correctly for me in
Word 2000. I end up with very small squares in place of the move list.
Nevertheless, Peter ended up with a Cannon, Knight, and a Rook, against
a Knight and a Rook with Pawns. Could he not have fought the good
fight and emerged victorious?

| If Black plays ..... 21.N3+5 making escape for the
attacked Knight, then Red's 22. C2+6 is difficult to defend.
