Author Question about Club XiangQi.

I have noticed that during games at Club XiangQi 3 letter and number
combinations appear at the right side of the board. The letters "M" "P"
and "E" stay the same during the game, while the numbers change. I have
deduced that "M" is for the number of moves in each game- but I'm
completely stumped about what "E" and "P" mean. And frankly, I have asked
the question repeatedly in the Common Rooms at Club XiangQi and no one has
answered me. Either no one knows OR the players there are a bit...
"aloof" is a kind way to put it I suppose. So I came here because this
site has been tremendously helpful to me.

To answer part of my own question, I was told last night by a player at
Club XiangQi that "P" means progress, as in the progress rule for draws.
If a player makes a move that is non-threatening that's when the "P"
number changes. It seems to make sense. This same player seems to think
that "E" means event- but she cannot define it. Anyone....?
