Because arguments of mental illness aside, that would require actual
work instead of blind speculation formed from a pompous view that he
can't be wrong, and even if he is, just backpedal, and make your own
heinous arguments about cowardice and the like. Or make fun of someone
who teaches at the number one school of Allied Health in the country
(and consistently rated so over the last decade), by calling general
prejudices about the state of origin in question. It's easier that way
than to actually engage in the subject under discussion. No winnners,
no losers, just a lot of invective tossed around by both sides.
He would prefer to keep it at the "shitfight in the monkey cage at the
zoo" level; if that isn't obvious to everyone by now. If no one wins,
neither can you lose.
