Did you think of looking at the entry for Lasker?

I don't think so either, he did play in the 1895 Hastings. I think it was
the Nottingham tournament, since isn't that what I wrote originally? It
certainly is what Sunnocks wrote.

Here - I found my entry for 11/12/2006, typos and all

Lasker came 5th at Zurich in 1934.
3rd, and half a point behind the winners at Moscow 1935. [an outstanding
achievement, BTW, for a man of 66 years old, scoring 66% result.
6th at Moscowm 1936.
8th at Nottingham 1936.

Hee, BTW, is his game against Reschevsky

Lasker - Reshevsky, Nottingham 1936 1.d4 d5 2.c4 dxc4 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.e3 e6
5.Bxc4 c5 6.Nc3 a6 7.O-O b5 8.Bd3 cxd4 9.exd4 Bb7 10.Bg5 Be7 11.Qe2 O-O
12.Rad1 Nbd7 13.Ne5 Nd5 14.Bc4 Nxc3 15.bxc3 Nf6 16.a4 Qd5 17.Nf3 Rfc8 18.Bb2
Ne4 19.Rc1 Ng5 20.axb5 axb5 21.Bxb5 Nxf3+ 22.gxf3 Qg5+ (23.Kh1 Qf4,
threatening 24...Bxf3+) 0-1

And here is the cross table for the tournament. Seems like Lasker did not
only come 8th, but came last!

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Rest Total

1/2 Capablanca * 0 ½ ½ 1 1 ½ ½ 4 6 10 £175

7/8 Flohr 1 * ½ ½ 0 ½ ½ 1 4 4½ 8½

3/5 Fine ½ ½ * ½ ½ ½ ½ 1 4 5½ 9½ £58

1/2 Botvinnik ½ ½ ½ * ½ ½ ½ ½ 3½ 6½ 10 £175

6 Alekhine 0 1 ½ ½ * 0 1 ½ 3½ 5½ 9

3/5 Reshevsky 0 ½ ½ ½ 1 * 0 1 3½ 6 9½ £58

3/5 Euwe ½ ½ ½ ½ 0 1 * 0 3 6½ 9½ £58

7/8 Lasker ½ 0 0 ½ ½ 0 1 * 2½ 6 8½

For a moment I thought you were about to apologize for creating another
red-herring based on speculation without any evident need to speculate on
anything, but no, instead its all still someone's else's fault.
