Aha ! So I'm not the only one experiencing this problem.
writersedge, I experienced the same bizzare problem after
upgrading Win ME to XP Pro for the convenience of retaining
my current apps and settings. Regretably, my end result has
been anything but convenient.
If your IE has a "manage add-ons" under tools, click that
and in the next window look for heartbeatctl cllas, if not
there, change "show" to the other category (probably add-ons
that have been used by IE). If there, make sure its enabled,
click update activex in lower right. If/when that fails,
create a restore point manually (and consider exporting your
registry contents to a file). What I did, as suggested by
+_Reverendjj was
1. In IE (or control panel)open internet options> and delete
temp files (click delete files button).
2. Goto C:\Windows\Downloaded Programs Files folder, delete
any subfolders named "conflict." followed by an incrementing
digit, then remove zintro.ocx, heartbeat.inf, hrtbeat.ocx
from the Downloaded Programs Files folder and restart.
3. Create a new user account with admin privilidges,
restart, login to the new account and try zone again.
This did finally allow me to get past the whoops screen and
into (spades & gammon) tourney rooms.
Hope this helps
