Author Unable to download Zone Games (Bridge)

After having problems playing Bridge I decided to re-download and, using
Add/Remove programs, remove all the files...then signed in and went through
the necessary motions until reaching the Lobby page where the 100% download
window appeared. It went through its usual and then, rather than downloading
the files, it displayed this message....<!--The Zinstaller Cookie Check and
Direct Code. After the message it goes no farther. Nada. I went through the
babble-scrabble of the computer generated answers and am currently at the
same point. I have removed all cookies and temp download files and for the
life of me cannot find where the problem area lies...I have a Gateway and
their support seems to believe that Active X is either not enabled or not
downloaded. It is enabled and the download is there......Please help.
Windows 98SE. All other functions are A-1.

The Zone seems to be causing more problems than solutions these days -
you're right, a lot of babble-scrabble for very little in return.

The fact that you're running a Windows 98 machine and getting one of those
"<!--error messages" could be suspiciously similar to the the problem and
solution I explained in the discussion directly below this one. The Zone runs
advertisements on each of the rooms list page which are causing problems for
a lot of users. These ads are interfering with the page and as a result, not
being displayed correctly on many older machines like 98 and ME. If you go to
www.admuncher.com and download their ad-blocker program (its very small
program) and run it while on the Zone, the rooms list should appear and
downloading the files should continue as normal. Also make sure you're
cookies are enabled while on the Zone!
