Here are a few things I would try:
- Try entering a different game and see if you can enter it. If you
can, go to the Zone folder, and delete the files associated with the
game. Sometimes they're in the main folder and othertimes they're in
the folder associated with the game.
- Look in Internet Properties, Advanced tab. There's an option to
"Enable Install on Demand". There may be new options added by XP2..
Try changing options to see if one will allow the software to be
installed. Also look in the Security, and Content tabs for options that
may allow the install.
- With WinME and WinXP you can run System Restore and select an entry
point listed on a date before the problem first occurred.
- In the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel, there's an
option in the upper left corner to show Windows Updates. Those listed
can be removed.
- At the Windows Update site, there's an option to list updates on your
machine. Some can be removed there.
