| Recently (two days ago) I bought myself a thrustmaster 2-in-1 USB gamepad
and an extra USB hub to use with my newly acquired FS 2004. I then installed
the 9.1 update.
Only I learned that the Online feature I was hoping for is no longer
available because service was terminated in June because of the
God-knows-when-to-be-released FS X :-( Couldn't they just wait until the
next product was actually released?
Very disappointing

| go here and download fshostspy :

158 FSHost servers are online right now! at 5:14am pdt

| I am beginning to mistrust that application.... it appears harmless but look
at this:
1. Checked it with Norton Antivirus and nothing was detected, but
2. Afterwards the MS flight sim (even after disconnecting from the
multi-player) started exhibiting glitches in the sound reproduction (I have
a 3.0GHz/1GB PC) that had never happened before
3. My firewall DoS log, after 2+ years of being empty, started showing 4
entries from LAN->WAN (my PC is the only one in the LAN). All four entries
appear as "Blocked" with reason "IP Spoofing" and the source IP is som
e192.168 non-existent IP in my LAN. Also, the timestamps on these entries
coincide with the timestamp of installing the FSHostSpy program on my PC.
Too much of a coincidence.... anybody had such experience? I am currently
running AdAware and NAV on my PC.

| If it helps any, I have a router whose IP address is 192.168.1.1 and the
subnet mask IP for my computer behind that hardware firewall is
255.255.255.0. Unless I activate my other computer, the main one is the
only one on the LAN. I use Zone Alarm Pro and AVG Free, but I do not fly
on a multiplayer server. If you have, as I suspect, a hardware firewall
router device between your computer and your modem, try entering the
192.x.x.x address you see in the log in your browser url window and see
if it doesn't connect you to the setup screens for the router. Then
you'll know it's okay.

| Hi Seadog,
I know the setup IPs of both my hardware router/firewall and my WAN
modem, none of those 2 setup IP addresses were the ones shown in the log of
my H/W firewall. Besides the other suspicious address was in the 2xx range.
I ran the antivirus and antispyware and nothing was found. In any case I
removed FSHostSpy from my system. I guess I should not trust any program
with "spy" in it. FSHostClient would have been a better name.
Anyway I will just use FSSimCafe.
Thanks,
Emilio
