| I have updated the driver for my SoundMAX card in my
Toshiba laptop. I am using directx 9.0c. I haven't found
any posts that match my situation: when I start a flight
the sound starts as it initializes ( for a millisecond,
really) and immediately goes out as the screen loades the
cockpit completely. I know it is a souncard issue, but I
can get the sound to work fine, by just turning off AP
and crashing my plane. When I do that first it seems to
play all previous sounds at once, so it plays loud
garbage noise for just a millisecond upon impact, but
then everything is fine, I can even hear the instructor
which is the reason why I must have sound - for the
lessons. I have checked everything I can think of, I have
the codecs and all. I can also get the sound to semi-work
if I run dXDIAG and I turn the Hardware acceleration in
directsound completely OFF (tests in directsound are
successful, and at the end it informs me I have no
hardware buffering on this SoundMAX card, i have tried
standard and basic acceleration options, but they don't
effect the problem, only OFF does) but without hardware
accel. the sound is echoing and it makes those blip and
scratchy sounds mixed in. I would concede that FS9 just
won't work on my SoundMAX, but It does works in these
conditions. Can someone please help in identifying what
event the Plane crash causes does to jumpstart the sound
system, so that I can make it happen when starting a
flight ? I find it Unacceptable that the sound CAN work
in this program, but won't. If it CAN work then there
must be a method to make it ALWAYS work !
