Morning flight west from Twin Bridges, Montana (7S1) to Orogrande,
Idaho (75C). First two screenshots show approach to Twin Bridges the
day before.

Notes:

- Dallas, if you want to see a bigger version of any of these, just
click on it. The slideshow will pause, the screenshot will shrink down
to display the caption, and you can click on the photo to see all
available sizes. I know this is a few more steps than is perhaps
convenient. On the other hand, smaller slides load more quickly for
slower connections.

- Addons: FS Genesis 38m mesh, ActiveSky 6, Flight Environment, Ground
Environment, Ultimate Terrain USA, Aerosoft DHC-2 Beaver (tundra tires)

Something that doesn't show up in the screenshots here was all the
turbulence I encountered once I got into the heart of the Bitterroot
Range. I'm assuming this was generated by the mountainous terrain -- at
least, this is something that ActiveSky 5 and 6 are supposed to
simulate.

I was wondering what the Bitterroot did to earn that evil name. As
usual, Wikipedia KNOWS ALL! "The range is named after the bitterroot, a
small pink flower that is the state flower of Montana."

IRL I wonder what those tundra tires would cost you in fuel economy,
considering the extra weight and drag??
Of course if you're in and out of undeveloped fields, who cares!!

The extra weight and drag are actually part of the flight model, if you
can believe it. This is one of the main selling points of the Aerosoft
Beaver: it comes with multiple configurations, with separate flight
models for each: wheels, skis, floats, amphibian, tundra tires,
crop-duster, firefighter ((actually, I don't know if the flight models
are any different for crop-duster and fire-fighter, but the crop-duster
looks very cool). Lots of liveries, too. I just wish the VC were
better.

Cool flight, I even managed to land the Baron at Orogrande without going off
the cliff.

It seems like everybody here discovered Idaho/Montana/Wyoming at the same
time independently. Much better than Colorado.
