| Man! Why don't you move on to directing!? GREAT! Guess you're spending hours
behind the 'puter... One thing though; your B-17 climbs like a homesick
angel as it seems from the video. It looks a little too much for what a B-17
can do IRL. Or am I wrong?

What no chicken or wildlife sounds? Fast food drive thru's enroute? Looks
like yer mellowin' on us there Mikey !
Really nice images and sounds.
As a yardstick for some things I'm working on, how long does it take you to
put something like this together?

I think Mike is a PP (Pacifist Pilot) and doesn't carry a bomb load... <G>
BTW Mike, what weather ya using?
Musta had a good cross wind, appeared to be crabbing on the landing
(although FS does distort perspective on rear spot views)....

| Oh, I let the airspeed slip down to 100 mph, Loek...a little too much nose
up trim and a little slow to react (beer does that) but I like the lightning
so the scene stayed.
Hey the 46 inches of manifold pressure (it will go to 55 inches!), no bomb
load and 50% fuel saved me...heh heh.

| CRaSH,
I am tempted to load the bomb bay area with water balloons...heh heh.
The weather is Flight One's Flight Environment. Not sure how much is that
and FS9 customized settings.
Yup had a crosswind for sure...or was it the beer?

| You know this did not take that long. Just 3 weeks of grueling computer
work...JUST KIDDING! Took about 4 hours of actual work. Not bad really.
The surprising thing is the actual flight is a simple pass around the
pattern just one time! I would then re-play and capture portions of
it...about 7 input video clips that were then hacked to h**l so you end up
with what you like.
Interesting thing is, the music clip will dictate the video. Lay down the
music clip first on one of the audio timelines. You can then start bringing
in your videos above that line. It is easy to see how they correspond with
the music clip and you can trim them so that it all works out to the same
length as the music clip.
Of course, in doing this, you are re-playing the video many times to see how
it looks. This is where the divorce proceedings start...HA HA HA. Just
kidding, but my wife had her fill of the song.

I guess there is constant tweeking too. There's always some other
"angle" that can be added or "oops' that shouldn't be in there!" Is it
ever really finished and ready for publishing?
Keep up the good work. We'll pray for extra patience for wifey k?
Has she ever though of starting a support group for FS "pilots"? We
could simulate flights from our individual homes to their conference in
the Himalaya's, or in Western Scandinavia...Oh wow...what a coincidence,
they just released, free software available that coincides with these
destinations....Hey honey????

Nice work Mike.. I noticed the climb rate for a few seconds, and that
was before the other guy mentioned it. Wonder is there is video
processing software that can adjust for video (intensity) dynamic
range?
I think there's only 256 brightness levels from black to white in PC
video.. but the human eye operates (supposedly) over a range of
30,000:1 and it's adaptive as well.
Found an article (since you seem to be a graphic type

also one could google for "dynamic range human eye"
keep the videos coming!!

Splendid video. The wipers were going so fast, I could hardly see
them. The video is great and anything with Enya's music works for me.

| Sounds like you are referring to gamma, Gregory. It's a way of
re-distributing highlights/shadows. Does not really give you more than those
256 points of range but can be very powerful in that it enables you to open
up the shadow areas and reduce the highlights...real handy.
Still images can be corrected this way in things like Adobe Photoshop. Take
a look.:
http://www.mbm30.org/Mike/Gamma.jpg
Two identical images. The top has an unaltered gamma curve. the bottom
shows what happens when you adjust the curve
Now, in video, there is some control like that in reasonably priced video
editors. In fact, if you look at the last scene in the video it originally
was so dark that there was almost no detail in the cabin. I made an
adjustment in contrast/brightness that brought some of the detail back. It
may take a higher end video editor to actually adjust gamma on video frames.
If you are looking for more color, that's easy. Many editors have a color
saturation control.
