With the flurry of FSX activity here this past week and already having
decided that I am not upgrading for awhile, visiting here feels like I am
standing on the platform, watching the rear of the train as it pulls out.

Over the weekend I pulled up some of my favorite sim haunts, only to sadly
discover that MostRealisticAI.com, the site of *the best* AI schedules,
appears to have concluded their rebirth was not worth the effort and has
again closed down. AI-Aardvark.com, the site of *the best* AI aircraft, is
also closing down and will be history any day now.

Thoughts then turned to Lee Swordy, who is no longer actively developing
two of the best, free AI traffic and airport modification utilities,
TrafficTools and AFCAD, and I wonder, is the sun beginning to set on this
most recent era in flight simulation?

Don't worry Peter.. just fire-up FS9 and go for a Sim. See post `What to
do if you tick-off the group..´ Those guys mentioned above are probably
off getting real jobs now (right John!) LOL

Now might be a good time for the JETLINER song by Steve Miller Band
nicely burned at 320kbps VBR with LAME 3.96 and RazorLame Frontend.

http://home.comcast.net/~bertp/10-Threshold.mp3 (2.05 MB)

http://home.comcast.net/~bertp/11-Jet_Airliner.mp3 (6.14 MB)

Best to play in sequence: 10- and then 11- .mp3

Grab them fast if you want a preview. Must be removed soon!!

Hi Peter,

You know you are actually reading my mind. I wont be upgrading as my pc
can't cope with FSX demo and had started to wonder where this group will go.
Will a major proportion of our 'buddies' talk only about FSX leaving us with
FS9 to quibble about.

Perhaps we should ask Greg does he ever feel left out using the older FS8?

Hi Ibby,

I have a system that can easily cope with the demo but I have no plans
on upgrading before next year where I guess upgrades have become
available. Until then I stick to FS9.

Don't think so. There will for some time be those still using FS9. I cast
my mind back 3 years and recall the same concerns being voiced when 9 was
realeased. To this day there are people coming new to FS9 and asking for
and receiving advice.

I'm not upgrading for quite a while Peter. Mainly because I have quite a few
payware add-ons for FS9 and some of them (PMDG 737 and Flight 1 ATR72) will
probably not be patched to be usable in FSX. So, I'm afraid you and Ibby
will have me around for some time! :-)
