Much though I love my CH Fighterstick USB, Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quad,
has *anybody* figured out a map that incorporates these into a usable
combination with FS9? I seem to spend more time messing around trying to
get the things to work in unison than I ever do actually flying with the
damn things!! I'm not a programmer, nor do I have a huge amount of free
time to learn and most of the maps you can find on the web concentrate on
combatty pursuits (which is fine); but I've yet to be able to figure out how
to combine my yoke, quad and pedals to fly my PMDG Beech 1900 effectively!
Any ideas?

Here's a place to start. In the CH Control Manager, use Map Wizard
(lightning icon) to combine your devices into a single map. When you've
done this, you should have a tab for each controller (yoke, pedals,
quad). Start by making sure that each button, throttle, control access
has "DirectX" checked. Then, assign ONE button on the yoke to be your
shift button. Save your map (floppy disk icon), then download your map
to the controllers (arrow to joystick icon).

Quit CH Control Manager, and startup FS9. Go to Settings | Control |
Assignments and start assigning functions to buttons and throttles.
Notice that EACH controller has two assignment tabs: one for button,
one for axes (like yoke, throttle, rudder).

I found it helpful to draw a picture of my yoke, with all of its
buttons, and pencil in what I wanted each control to do, both in its
normal and shifted state. I then used that picture to fill in the
assignments for axes and buttons.

* Hint: To keep the map that you made in CH Control Manager active,
create a shortcut to the program "chstart.exe" and drag the shortcut
into the Startup folder on your Windows Start menu.

I think I know what you mean.
I can't leave my joystick plugged in while I'm using the yoke, and visa
versa.
Maybe there's an add-on out there that will allow those controllers that
use the same axis to actually use the same axis together, or renumber the
axis or something. I'm sure there's a solution for it out there.

The registered version of FSUIPC will allow two devices to use one
axis.

I just got an old airplane cockpit and wired in the controls to a joystick,
everything works like a dream, although the rudders are a little sensitive..

If I had a gun I'd shoot myself in the foot for being so blind!

I promised myself a long time ago to register the damn thing and all this
time I thought I had. I remember receiving a password or something.

Doh!

Time to make a list of things to do....like pay for the A36 so I can
finally fly it. :-)
Thanks, David.
