boB, I noticed in one of your recent posts on VR gear that mentioned
IL-2. I bought this last spring -- great game, but steep learning
curve. I never put in enough time to become competent, and always come
back after a session or two to FS. This isn't a criticism of IL-2, just
a commentary on me.

Question is, boB, is there recipe a for making the transition from FS
to IL-2? Other than removing FS from your machine?

Nope I have not been able to fly IL-2 enough to become proficient
either. But the way it allows a person to pan around the cockpit would
work very well with the Visor. (I think!!) I read a review that was not
very complimentary for the Visor when playing FS2004 so the head tracker
might not be an important or effective part of the Visor. The thing is,
the Z800 has better imaging and FOV than any of the other Visors I've
read about and the price is on par with the closest competitor
(i-glasses) which has no head tracking. So I would be able to use the
full power of the Z800 when playing some of the driving and FPS games
but use the TrackIR 3 Pro for 6DOF Positioning in FS200x.

But who knows, maybe 2 axis tracking might be enough, I'll have to see.

Unfortunately a major letdown is that there is no joystick emulation for
the head tracking, which means I could not use it with Microsoft Flight
Simulator which was really looking forward to. Also, because of the lack
of joystick emulation I could not tell if the head-tracker supported roll.
