Got a recent dash8 from AVSIM recently and noticed that the thing's front
wheels bounce up and down on the tarmac. Looks great while I listen to
WAR's "Low Rider", however really upsets the passengers as they prep for
take off.

Would any of you FS "masters" have any ideas what could be causing this ??

Had the same problem with a Dash 8 which I just deleted cause I was sick of
the nose crashing into the ground when you applied the brakes or even after
turning off the push-back feature the plane would do a wheelie then front
carriage would smash off in a ball of flames! Didn't have a VC so it wasnt
much of a loss not having it. Had an old concorde which did same. Must be
a problem with the aircraft config

Sounds like a Contact_Points parameter in combination with CG or
balance issue. The front-gear damping, travel, and crash tolerance
numbers can be edited.. and the nose might also be light due to the
relation of main gear, CG, and loading. Open the Dash 8 in ACM
(Aircraft Container Manager) and view, both graphically and in the
data fields.. REF datum, EWCG, loads, and wheel info.

The best way to load if you're into math and numbers.. is to make
Excel file of ALL loading positions. Sum the `weights' column for
Total Load. Make another column of Weight x Longitudinal Distance..
sum that column and call it `long arm' .. then divide by Total weight.

The result is.. TWO numbers... the Total Load and the Long Coord
for the EFFECTIVE loading point.. usually ahead of CG by 2 - 20 ft
depending on type.

p.s. doing this could get yourself into a LONG tuning process!!
