| I have FS2002 with Logitech Wingman Force 3D. I have been flying without
any trim problems. Also OK with CH yoke.
But now, the trim wheel is moving constantly; I can over-ride its movement
with buttons or keys but it immediately starts moving again, usually going
to extreme down trim. I have exited FS and re-loaded, but no change. This
is with C172, but I have changed planes and still have problem.
Does anyone know what might be going on? Thanks.

I have two Logitech joysticks (Wingman Force 3D and Freedom 2.4
cordless), and both of them experience this very thing
*occasionally*.
At first, I thought it might have been because my first joystick, the
cordless one, was, of course, cordless, and I thought there might
have been some interference happening in the airspace (I also have a
2.4 ghz phone in the house). So last week, I went out and got the
Force 3D joystick, hoping that the wired connection wouldn't suffer
from this problem, and noticed the very same anomaly! (again, just
occasionally; though certainly often enough to continue bothering
me).
It doesn't happen all the time (perhaps in 10%-20% of my flights), but
it can happen at the most inopportune moments; like when I'm just
about to land, the nose will point itself up and just keep going
until the plane stalls and drops. I can *sort of* override the
tendency to pitch up by using the elevator trim wheel, but then it
just goes crazy in the other direction, and constant readjustments
just confuses it more. The only "cure" I've found so far is to end
the flight, close the sim, and hope it doesn't happen when I start up
the next flight.
I'd really like to know of an actual cure for this as well. I wonder
if there could be a conflict between the Wingman profiler settings
and the settings within the sim?

| Maybe it's a key command for Trim being stuck... or is the autopilot on or
inadvertantly turned on?
Autopilot will move trim.

| I agree... it appears to me the autopilot uses the trim to control the
aircraft...

| Yes, I have had similar experinces and normally resolve it by turning
autopilot back on and then off again. It does seem to be the autopilot that
is involved - I use a Saitek joystick because of continual problems with
Logitech.

| Thanks for your replies. Yes, it was autopilot. I had set up on runway,
having changed time and location from saved flight, and did not realize that
AP was still in control of trim.
