I have the string "RonGrossi" in Message rules, Blocked Senders List but his
last message got through.

How do you configure the filter to catch partial strings?

Hi Dallas,

are you talking about news or mail?
It's different.

News of course! If you've gotten in a personal emailing contest with
RonGrossi, you've got problems nobody can solve.

Personally, I've been plonking every iteration of his name that I see.
right click, block sender. That has helped tremendously. Now I only have to
deal with the incessant re-posts!

I can just imagine the conversation when Ron meets his maker..

Ron Grossi: "Well, Jesus, look what I did for you while I was alive...
Over 10,000 postings to newsgroups praising you."

Jesus: "Yeah, using an automatic spam machine. Lot's of hard work there,
eh Ron? Took what, 3 minutes to set up? What you think; I'm an idiot????
You think I can't market my own message???? You think I need pissant Ron to
move it along??? Peace, love brotherhood, all of that isn't enough, I need
pissant Ron to bring it all together, eh, Pissant-Ron??? And what DID you
accomplish??? You pissed off so many potential followers, convinced them I
was exactly the kind of over-controlling, no-such-thing-as-free-will,
ends-justify-the-means XXXXXXX they were afraid of! I figure that between
you and Tom Delay, Satan has actually won the most souls for the first time
in 2000 years! Flippin' idiot, 'look what I did for you' indeed! Kinda
forgot that whole 'free-will' thing, didn't you? Look, moron, if I wanted
to just MAKE them all praise me, you don't think I could do it? What counts
is if they come to me ON THEIR OWN, not because you brow-beat them into it
or because some idiot politico tried to legislate it! Now, just for being
such a flaming dumbass you're sentenced to spend the next 10 thousand years
with Pat Buchanan, trading kicks to the groin while chanting 'He's the Lord,
I'm a pissant, I don't talk for him, he talks for himself' and you two
idiots BETTER kick hard, cause I got a bunch of soccer players and NFL
place-kickers that need to work off some 'unfaithful-to-the-wife' issues."

Well that poses an interesting theological question. If you kill him in
Outlook Express will he go to Internet Heaven?

Or will he go to Silicon Hell as an ignorant croos-posting spammer?

Yeh I have kill filed him and do not have any problems. But like you say its
the reposters that are a problem. If they must respond to him then they
should be kind enough to delete his post so it doesn't go on and on ad
nauseum...

Kind of like this reply :-)

Thanks for that... but "Ron" keeps changing his "From" field.. but I did
put him into "Message rules". We'll see how that works.
