I had to reformat due to a rather nasty virus and now I need to go about
setting up FS2004 again. In saying that I have two questions. Firstly is the
patch worth installing? and secondly, trying to reinstall the RealAir Spit,
I am prompted for the installation password and when I enter the password
the button remains ghosted, what am I missing here? I have emailed RealAir,
but being Easter I am not expecting a reply in a hurry.

Hope everyone has a good Easter break!

Sorry to hear that. I've never been burned by a virus yet, but just by
legal software. Just lately it was Partition Magic v8 which fired my
system partition when I changed the cluster size.

In saying that I have two questions. Firstly is the patch worth
installing?

I think so. The most important to me anyway is the frame rate doesn't
drop anymore after time returning to the same area.

Cheers!

Hi Scet;

The patch just addresses some extremely minor issues that RA thought to fix.
It's worth installing.
Not sure why you're having the installation issue. Everything being
considered, if you put in the correct key, the button should unmask.
One thing; that key is an EXACT key, both in spacing and it's case sensitive
as well. Mine is rather long and complicated. It would be VERY easy to make
a mistake typing it in. I'd suggest checking your key VERY carefully after
you type it in the box for errors. It would only take a simple transposition
error for that box not to show. Same thing happened to me believe it or
not!! :-)

Just as a hint (sorry if I bother you with something that you know
already.....): never try to type such a long password! Just copy and paste
(Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V) from the Email you received. That's in any way the safest
option ;-)

Hi Dudley,
I was refering to the FS9 patch though after reading my post I knew it
would be misconstrued....never mind.....I do intend to download and install
the Spit patch as I have the raindrop and blurry gauges in the racer.

The password when typed looks like the pickets in a picket fence, for want
of a better way of describing it, I thought it just showed what you typed,
letter for letter. I even tried cutting and pasting. I'll try it again
later, if it doesn't work I'll wait for Sean from RA to contact me.

Good to hear from you Dudley.
