I installed a FS2002 TBM Avenger in FS2004. It flies fine, but the VC is
crazy looking and the landing gear is not visible. I'm not too worried
about the VC, but I would like to be able to see the landing gear. Is
there a fix for this?

Keith

PS - Still having problems with static in the sounds of some add-on
aircraft.

Here's a half-baked reply to the AC question. FS9 models [can] have
imbedded code which is incompatible with FS8. Not too familiar..
something like XML for flex and such effects.

As for static sounds.. check the IRQ of you sound board. In the case
where it's shared with the NIC (ethernet card) or other hardware.. it
could snap and pop. Also when in Cockpit view (panel) with a detailed,
hi-refresh test gauge.. the audio started to pop.. that is `interrupt
steady flight noises'.

Did you run `dxdiag' and check the `hardware acceleration' slider?
Win2000 with it's HAL (hardware layer) isn't the greatest.

Hi,

When you are warned about an incompatible aircraft and do you want to
inactivate the incompatible features say NO. Then your landing gear
will usually appear (but not the props).

Now that you have probably already said YES, you need to quit FS, remove
that plane's entry from the fs9.cfg file, save it, and restart FS. It
will ask the question again and this time say NO.

Hope this helps,

Hey Tom.. what if the AC doesn't show up at all? what does that mean?
or if a FS9 panel is defined and the Sim crashes (CTD) on startup?

No, there is no "fix." Models constructed with FSDS for FS2002 are NOT
fully compatible with the new model format used in FS2004.

You're correct and it works. Say "No" and I get a landing gear, but no
prop. Say "Yes" and I get a prop, but no landing gear. i'll probably go
back to the prop without a gear. It seemed like I also had to apply an
awful lot of up elevator when I said "No". Thanks for your help.
