| Researcher have recently discovered "mirror neurons" in the frontal lobes of
primates. (Google it)
In summary, they found through PET scans and other tests that mirror neurons
are an area of the brain that process information if you are doing something
or watching something. Actually doing something, or watching someone do
something set off exactly the same brain activity thanks to the wiring of
these neurons. Researchers could not find any difference between the brains
of people doing something versus people watching something.
What this means for us sim pilots is that simulation and the real thing
produce precisely the same results.

I need a drink.....
Or better yet....I could watch someone get drunk and get wasted just by
watching someone getting drunk. It's half the fun of the buzz but hey....

Aaaaah...you're talking about the eek-factor! I know about that!
"Ooooh....this landing is gonna hurt somebody!"
"Shit...there goes the wingtip."
"Oeeeehhh....hold it there...hold it there...more thurst...steady...."
"Where's a good f/o when you need one?"
"This approach isn't good. I need to get to the alternate."
"1...2...3....3 bounces. I hope I don't get fired for that landing."
That sorta thing?

| Hi Dallas,
There's an excellent "Ghosts" video clip around!
If you have a strong heart, I could send you a copy?
Let me know, mate.

Hi Dallas
I had a CT scan of my head taken recently - nothing so fancy as a PET
- and am due to see a neurologist in a few weeks. I shall have to
remember to ask him about this. Of course, as he never listens to
anything I say, I cannot guarantee to provide an answer for you.

Excellent point! Here are those idiots spending billions on research for
things we already know. Next time I'll have them call you. :-)
