Hovering touchdown / Concorde Project Mach 2
|
|
| Philster 2005-02-22, 3:59 am |
| Hi- Plenty of touchdown smoke but no tire contact with the runway. Tires
seem to hover a scaled 16" above the pavement when landing. Sure looks sad!
How does one adjust the Cfg file (FsFrance Concorde.. or any sim model) to
allow normal touchdown contact?
Using FS9
Thank you for your advice--

| Is this the old concord model from previous FS's or is it a totally new one
that someone created? I'm no familiar with the "project" mentioned in the
subject.
When GMax models are created in GMax there is an elevation setting that must
be made correctly. If it is too high the wheels won't "reach" the ground.
I'm not sure if there is an "external" way to correct it in the Sim itself.

Of course there is... That's what the [contact points] section of the
aircraft.cfg file is for... ;)

| Concorde is not the old Microsoft FS version. It's a very nice 3rd party
GMax. Page can be found @ http://www.fsfrance.com/Projets/Mach2/Download.htm
Still some bugs in new updated air file. It now allows amazing realistic
pitch-up landings (@10.5 degrees) however the Virtural cockpit textures no
longer display. Gauges are fine though.
About the "hovering tires" when landing: what type of editor would I use to
play with the Cfg file to improve tire contact?
Thank you-
Phil

| The Aircraft.cfg that Bill mentioned is just a text file. You can edit it
with Notepad.

Go over to AVSIM and download FSPLANED.ZIP. Written by Derek Swanson,
it will tell you almost everything you need to know about fixing this
problem and many others.
