This is a definite threat!!!

If FS10 does not have ATC SPACING, it won't see the inside of my
computer!!!!!! SO there! No more Mr. Nice Guy! I just spent over an hour
trying to land a B747 at DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth), and got so fed up, I flew
THROUGH the AI traffic. It's hard enough to land one of those monsters
without anyone getting in the way.
Excuse me while I brush my remaining hair off my keyboard and take a cold
shower.

Ditto my Learjet at SFO! It might be smaller but I'm off for a shower as
well. I was told to 'follow the Mooney' which I noted was 1.7 miles in
front; my speed was 135 so how come I flew straight through him (I had
turned the labels off); it was dark and I nearly had a heart attack! Not
good before bedtime...

There are a few ways to deal with this problem.

1 lower your AI traffic to about 50% and not 100%
2 While going to land at an airport and you see another plane 200 feet in
front of you going to land as well, change the time by about 5 mins, they
will be gone.

The other day I just landed my 747 at San Francisco International and
watched as the ATC gave clearance to 8 aircraft at once. What was funny was
she was talking to some other aircraft and couldn't tell most of them to
go-around so they all landed at once... It was rather amusing. But hey, it's
only $50.00. I can take the good with the bad. It has taught me a lot about
flying. I use the information I've learned in the simulator in my ground
school class.

Yeah, yeah, sure sure... Take a deep breath and say to yourself, "I was

BTW I see that you set your sim to "...I flew THROUGH the AI traffic..."

Set the sim to detect crashes from stress and aircrafts, then fly by stick
in a 747 on an ILS approach around AI traffic... There is no better drug.

I've avoided several mid-air collisions doing this. If you want to get your
hart pumping this is the way to do it...

Actually Arthur, this can happen in real life as well. I've been stacked
back twenty and more deep at Idlewild (Kennedy now :-) trying to get the
hell out of there with a charter. Finally asked for and accepted an
intersection departure before I overtemped the engines. :-)
In the sim, (I'm sure you've discovered this already ) putting the AI
traffic back to about 50% gives you a more average day and livable
scenario.

Why haven't you d/l'd and installed Traffic Toolbox from the MSFS website?

With this FREE module MSFS was kind enough to provide, it's a simple matter
to DELETE INSTANTLY those pesky AI who try to prevent you from landing? ;)

I'm bad at landing my Cessna 172 and when I finally do land and am trying to
clear the runway, it is embarrassing to hear the ATC tell the AI traffic
behind me that they'll have to go around! It seems that ATC spacing works
to some degree for *behind* the player anyways. :-)

Hi arthur,

What ever happened to that stiff upper lip I thought you Brits were
famous for?

Remember, as Crash Parker will always tell you, it's only a game, mate!

Ummmmm........hmmmmm......when did I give John the impression I'm a Brit?
Actually, I'm from one of the 'colonies' as is he.....only mine has become
civilized : )

Hi Arthur,

Oh yeah, now I remember - you're in that little bit that's tacked on to
the top of America, aren't you..

I've heard it's become so civilised that it's now a very popular tourist
destination.

It's even very realistically modelled in the Sim', with heaps of AI
flights bringing in all those tourists!

Apparently they can bank up a bit at the airports, though.

You better watch out for that, mate, so you don't get stuck behind all
those AI planes!

Forewarned is forearmed! :-))

ATC: <panic> All aircraft GO AROUND! </panic>

This reminds me of something I saw on telly quite some time ago.

A Vietnam pilot was recalling a situation he encountered when flying
over SE Asia.

The pilot telling the story heard over his radio one pilot telling
another that he (the other) had an enemy aircraft on his tail.

After a few XYZ callsign comments, the observant pilot shouted
"Phantom, break left!" They all did.

It also sucks when you are on the runway and ATC keeps telling you to get
off the runway... "Turn next taxiway... " "Turn next taxiway... " "Turn next
taxiway... " They need to chill out...
