Author Pitch moment when putting down gear..

This is an easy one and rather important. What typically would happen
when putting down the wheels.. let's say while on the LOCALIZER and
maintaining 2200ft. That is.. would the nose pitch down (or up)? Is
it barely noticeable or a definite pitch? There's a question on what
the sign ( + or - ) that Cmg (pitch moment - gear) should be. Best
reply for hi-tail jets but general info on any type would be great.

TIA

Well I guess you'd expect a pitch forward, since the gear is extending below
the centre of balance and causing drag. Or is this a sneaky trick question?
(On a big jet though, would the gear position be slaved to any kind of
automatic trim compensation?)

Nope.. not a trick. Not sure how to say it, but some notable AIR
files have Cmg which are negative numbers. The Air INI file has
the following convention:

------- Pitch --- + is Nose Down -------

*Cmg: Pitch Moment - Gear (for Gear down)

Agree with your comment.. and have been perplexed by email reply from
FD author. BTW.. while googling gear-pitch moment, came across a force
that MSFS doesn't include. That is Pitch Moment from tire contact,
spin-up loading, or whatever you'd like to call it. Google search hits
describe it as a force that tends to `set the nose wheel down.' Did
you ever notice a pitch during touchdown?
