I, as many others, have some old thrustmaster devices, like the attack
throttle, joystick, fragmaster, racing wheels... That use their direct
connect digital system. But they didn't release drivers for win XP. Does
anybody know how to get this stuff to work? No problem, if I have to mod
them, cause I'm about to throw them away now.

Are you saying these are USB controllers and the standard WinXP USB drivers
don't work?

Nope gameport controllers, that have more than the standard 4 buttons (and
axis) and therefor use some technology by thrustmaster with different
wiring etc.

Have u tried the Thrustmaster web site for older drivers? I forgot
their website name, I can post it when I get home.
the new Thrustmaster with USB dont need anything to be done if ur
installing in WinXP, they workjust fine with the XP drivers.

All the best.

I haven't tried this, but for about $16 US, Radio Shack sells a device
that will convert a gameport device to USB. If it worked, you could
probably use the built-in drivers that come with WinXP.

Once again: I haven't tried this.

FYI these USB converters actually work... I have one in my closet right
this minute. But, they are very simple things that will run a joystick,
throttle and rudders and a few buttons from the more popular old
controllers.

OK.. when you said "use their direct connect digital system" that confused
me. What you want to do is run these old controllers on a gameport
connection but you can't find WinXP drivers? Is that right?

Eek! When I first saw the subject line, I had an unsettling vision of
an obscene battery powered John Travolta doll in a white suit and

Hmmm...considering my concerns as expressed above, care to expound?
(on the other hand, let's not go there!) ;-)

Girlfrien' your imagination will get you into trouble! :-)

I have a pervert friend that comes over and messes with the sim from time to
time... it always takes him about three minutes to quit laughing about the
"Thrustmaster" label. Maybe I should introduce you?
