Hi,

I am using CH Pro Pedals and Yoke with FS2004. I have calibrated
both yoke and pedals. When I start a simulation I am instructed to
press . to disengage parking brakes. If I then touch either pedal
brake 'differential braking' displays. If I then release, 'brakes' is
indicated in the lower left corner of the screen. No matter what I do I
can't get rid of the 'brakes' indication. I can't say for sure, but as a
real private pilot, it sure seems like I have brakes on taxiing down the
runway prior to rotation because it accelerates very slowly.

Do I really have brakes applied even if my feet are off the pedals? If
so, is there a way to release them?

Thanks.

Tap the brakes very gentley...that helps sometimes.

Calibrate your pedal brakes with FSUIPC to set the effective Null position.

I can assure you that if it says "brakes" then yes, the brakes are on. You
may need to go into the Controls and recalibrate the pedals. CH pedals are
great but they can be quirky in FS2004, sometimes just a simple unplug and
re-plug from within the sim will fix it. If not, you might want to try
adding a little to the deadzone of brake axis. Have you re-run the
calibration routine from within windows prior to starting FS? That helps
sometimes as well. The last thing worth checking is if there is another key
or controller button conflicting with the pedals. You can find this in
Controllers, Assignments and make sure that you check all controllers and
Axis settings to make sure that none are listed.

Anyway, just a few items for you to look at. You will get it worked out, I
use the ProPedals and I love them.

Simple method...

Press the "." (period or dot) key to release the parking brake, [ctrl]+. to
engage the parking brake.

I had the same problem. The solution is to install CH Manager.
Download from the CH site. Set the X and Y axis "gain" to look like the
letter "S". Set the dead zones above 40. Make sure the "center" check
boxes are marked. I set the Z axis differently: small dead zone (5) and
the "Gain" is set opposite of the "S" curve of the X and Y axis "Gain"
settings.

All the settings I've given you are on the "Axis Settings" tab. You get
to that screen by opening the program and clicking on the
"Test/Calibrate" icon, and selecting the yoke. BE SURE TO CLICK "APPLY"
each time you change a value on that tab, before going back to the
Test/Calibrate tab. Otherwise you won't see the changes take place when
you move the pedals. There's a little blue dot and a yellow dot that
move independently when you modify the settings as I've outlined. The
blue dot shows you what the sim will see.

Hi,

If you don't want to install the CH Manager, what I found worked for me
was to go to the Calibration screen in Windows for the pedals and press
The Reset Defaults button. Then never calibrate the pedals again!
Thanks to Bob Church for the suggestion.

Hope this helps,
