so, any "recommended" panels around who not only give the "basics" of a
panel but give sufficient view for a VRF landing?

Incidentally, the only "complete" package which I have found with everything
in right proportions (i.e. enough cockpit window space, panels not overly
complex, great frame rates) are for the IFDG A320 series. They're
particularly good and am extremely friendly. Was looking for other similar
series, but can't seem to find any good "packages" around in comparison.

Some are either too complex resulting in jerkiness during landings
(processor working overtime) or too simple that I can't even figure out how
to start the plane when sitting on the tarmac (there is no sight of an
avionics switch - so how am I supposed to know it is off???)
