viewing area seems rather small. Is this how it is in real life? Is the
seat by default lower than it really should be during landing?
No, that is not how it is in real life.
I don't know which B777 you are using but you have discovered one of the
unsolved problems of flight simulator. Because most displays are only
17-22" panel designer are confronted with a series of compromises they must
make to try to overcome this view limitation. Unfortunately, many panel
designers, being proud of their work, have a strong tendency to make their
panels predominant. The outside view becomes secondary to their "fine
panel"... after all with such a fine panel why would anyone need to look out
the window?
You can adjust the view point up or down by holding down the shift key and
tapping either backspace or enter key.
The outside view area can only be fixed by finding a different B777 with a
panel by an author who understands the need to provide a sufficient outside
view.
