| You can load 2004 and have both.
2004 will not overwrite/affect 2002 installation.

If you have the hard drive space, load 2004 to a separate directory,
rather than on top of 2002. Both can co-exist on the same PC and hard
drive.
Then you can copy over your favorite aircraft and scenery from 2002 to
2004 at your leisure (although there was a change in FS2004 that makes
the flight dynamics of 2002 aircraft too aggressive, you are better to
find 2004 aircraft).

| You can load it on the same machine in it's own new folder, don't load it in the same place as 2002.

| They are different programs... that is to say FS2004 is not an 'update' of
FS2002 (like how Orbiter sims work for instance) but a new program in it's
own right. They can happily co-exist on the same hdd, but not in the same
directory. When you install FS2004, it usually wants to go into a folder
named something like C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS9 whereas FS2002
goes to /Microsoft Games/FS2002. These default places are fine. (though for
me I have FS9 on my F:/ drive)

| When installing, I select custom install so that I can select C:\fs2004
as the directory. When I've selected the directory I then choose to
install everything.
The reason I do it this way is because I don't have to dig my way into
the Programs directories every time I want to amend anything in the sim.

| Is it worth buying the new version if you have the 2002 version.
Cheers Jeff.

At this point in time, I'd have to say no... The next version will be
released long before you finished tweaking FS2004 to your liking! ;)

| On the other hand, if your PC is well rated for FS2K2, it will be marginal
for FS9 and probably incapable of the as yet unannounced FS10
