Which way was Link riding? (possible Spoiler)

| Just finished LOZ:TP on the Wii. Amazing game.
For those of you that have also run through the game at least one, I'd like
your opinion on what happened during the credits. Right before "The End" is
displayed, you see Link's boss run up to his house, Illya looking
expectantly down the path that leads to the bridge between Ordon Village and
the Faron Province, and then Link riding Epona fast across the same bridge.
It's not easy to tell which way he's riding, though.
-Is he heading back to his home village to see Illya and the rest of his
friends?
-Is he heading back out to search for Midna?
-Or, is it the start of the next grand adventure?
This is purely speculative, of course, but I'd like to hear what the rest of
you think.
My own guess is that he made a brief return to the village, got bored with
the life of a simple goat herder, and couldn't resist the urge to head back
out to greater Hyrule to fight monsters, solve puzzles, and save the world
yet again from almost certain destruction.
It's going to be a long few years waiting for the next game.

(possible spoiler space)
I thought about that too, I figure as well, he's heard the calling and
decided to head out to help out others in need all over Hyrule. Link's
found out that the world is much bigger than he or Ordon Village is,
and he needs to find his place in it. Illya was watching him leave,
not awaiting his return.
BUT, a bit of foreshadowing when they focused on the kids, one of
them had the wooden sword strapped to his back, and a determined
look on his face as he walked away...
Too much time between now and the next adventure. =( I'd like to
know where TP fits into the timeline though. That's what I haven't been
able to figure out.

My own guess is that TP will fall somewhere between MM and TWW.
